Can I change my name on my Profile?
Yup! Just go to Settings > Edit Profile then type in your name.
How do I change my Primary Passion?
Your primary passion is the first one at the top of your passion list. To view your list of passions just tap the passion flame in the bottom center of the app. Then, find whichever passion you want to make your primary passion and long press until it moves. Now simply slide it to the top with your finger. You can do this to arrange all of your passions however you’d like.
What is my ‘Story’?
This is all about YOU and what YOU love. Share your personal story and what you love with the world! You’ve got 1111 characters to play with so share as much as possible. A blue story button means there’s a video. Be sure to check them out!
What do the stars on my profile represent?
The stars on your profile represent your rating on our platform on a scale of 1 to 5 stars – 1 star being the lowest and 5 stars being the highest. Every time you complete an Experience on our platform you will rate and be rated. It’s important to keep a high rating to build trust in the community.
What does the blue flame next to someone’s name mean?
People with a blue flame next to their name are Passionaries. A Passionary with a blue flame is offering bookable Experiences on our platform that you can book at any time. Tap ‘View Experiences’ on a Passionary’s profile to see all the Experiences they’re offering.
Why should I get verified?
We want to make sure our community feels that this is a safe, secure, and social marketplace. Getting verified through your email, phone number, credit card and social networks is one of the ways we can keep this safe for all users.
Why should I fill in my passion statement and story?
The #besomebody app is about sharing your passion with others. This is the place to tell everyone what you love and why you love it!
What’s the big number in the top left of my profile?
This is your Unleash Score. It represents the number of times you’ve unleashed your passion on our platform by booking an Experience with a Passionary. Or, if you’re the Passionary, it’s how many times you’ve hosted an Experience. You can tap on someone’s Unleash Score to see what Experiences they’ve done.
How can I view someone else’s passions?
When viewing someone else’s profile, tap the number in the bottom right corner with “Passions” under it. This will show you their list of passions.
Why should I share my location?
Our app is based on your location. We want to show you Experiences around you and the best way to do that is for you to share your zip code with us.
Can I make my profile private?
Yes. Tap Settings > Edit Profile > Turn On Private.
Why do you need my credit card?
We use credit card information as a form of security, for easier bookings in the future, and for cancellation fees in case you cancel an Experience less than 24 hours before it’s set to begin.
What do you do with my credit card information?
Braintree, our payment processing company, secures all credit card information. No one, including #besomebody employees, can see your credit card information. Your credit card information is stored with Braintree and never stored by #besomebody.
What is the Feed Feature?
In our Feed view, we show you real time booking of all Experiences on our platform. Tap the highlighted name of the Experience to view the details, and tap the person’s picture to view their profile.
What is the Map Feature?
In our Map view, you are able to see Experiences all over the world. Tap the blue dot to see all the experiences in a Zip Code.
What is the Experiences Feature?
In our Experiences view, we show you a list of all live Experiences around you. Tap the Experience photo to view the details and book!
Can someone find my exact location?
No. We NEVER share your exact location with ANYONE. Our location sharing is based off of Zip Codes.
How do I know which passion I’m viewing?
Tap the filters icon in the top left and it will show you what passion area you are currently viewing along with other preferences.
PASSIONARY:
What is a Passionary?
A Passionary is a teacher, coach or instructor on our platform. Passionaries create and manage their Experiences right from their iPhone (or iPad, iTouch), and then meet Participants who book them in person for hands-on learning Experiences. Passionaries make money doing what they love by teaching others who share their passion.
How do I become a Passionary?
Anyone, anywhere can become a Passionary. You can apply directly from the #besomebody app by tapping the blue “Become a Passionary” button on your profile. There’s three easy steps designed to ensure the safety and security of our community: verifying your online ID, verifying your bank account and credit card (for payments and penalties), and verifying at least one social account.
How do Passionaries make money?
Passionaries host Experiences to teach others that share their passion. They decide what the Experience is, where it is, how much it is, etc…and Passionaries keep all the money they earn on our platform.
How does the money get transferred to my account?
Passionaries can choose to be paid out via direct deposit to their bank account (U.S. only), or via PayPal. Funds are transferred into your account within 72 hours of a completed Experience, as long as there are no complaints or issues.
Does it cost any money to be a Passionary?
No! There are no fees to become a Passionary, setup your experiences, or host Experiences. And you keep all the money you make!
What does “Verify Your ID” mean?
We have three steps in place to ensure the safety and security of our community. The first of which is an ID verification so that other Users know you’re exactly who you say you are. This is important because people will be meeting up with you for in-person Experiences. Verifying your ID is quick and easy, and includes uploading a profile photo, confirming your email and phone number, and linking at least one social network.
Why the heck do you need my credit card, I’m not buying anything??
Selecting a payout method is the second step of identity verification, adding another secure layer of trust for Users. Also, just as importantly, we keep your credit card on file in case you “no-show” or cancel on a Participant within 24 hours of the Experience. No-shows and cancellations are extremely rare, however they create a very poor experience for Users. If you no-show or cancel within 24 hours, you are charged a $25 cancellation fee. What payment processing service do you use?
We’ve partnered with Braintree, one of the world’s leading payment processing solutions. They securely protect your credit card and bank account information, and they handle the direct deposits into your bank account (if you’ve selected that payout option). Braintree is owned by PayPal, and used by some of the world’s largest and lucrative marketplaces, including Uber, AirBnB and StubHub. You can learn more in our terms.
What types of Experiences can I offer?
You can create Experiences for any passion area, so long as they offer Participants in-person, hands-on learning opportunities. You decide what the experience is, where it is, how long it is, and specify any special requirements. Participants book via the #besomebody app (iOS), and then you meet in person for the Experience.
Can I offer group Experiences?
Yes! Group Experiences not only enable Participants to meet others who share their passion, they offer higher payouts for Passionaries. The more people you host per Experience, the more money you make!
What happens if, as a Passionary, I need to cancel an Experience?
If a Passionary cancels an Experience with more than 24 hours notice, there is no penalty. If a Passionary cancels an Experience within 24 hours, their card on file will be charged a $25 cancelation fee. Passionaries canceling does not occur often, however it is highly discouraged as it gives Participants an undesirable experience. If you need to reschedule, you can message Participants using the Message feature on the app, and align on a new date/time. Just keep the Experience active in your Experience List (under Notifications) until after the Experience is completed. Then, as usual, tap the ‘Complete’ button to initiate the review and payout process.

What is an Experience?
We believe that people learn best through Experiences. On our app, Passionaries offer Experiences to teach people skills relevant to a specific passion area. You can click on any Experience for a more detailed description – or feel free to message the Passionary offering the Experience with any questions you may have.
How are the prices set for Experiences?
Passionaries have the opportunity to set pricing for Experiences they prefer to list. They decide what the Experience is, where it is, how much it is, etc… You can message them for further details if you have questions about an Experience.
Why should I pay for Experiences?
You’re paying to learn from someone. You are asking someone to teach you a skill that you are passionate about. This often involves years of expertise, expensive equipment, location rentals, etc.
What does it mean to flag an Experience?
If you feel something unsafe, inappropriate or very unprofessional happened, or the other user was a ‘no-show’ please flag them and we will review within 48 hours.
What happens if the Passionary never shows up or tries to cut the Experience short?
If the Passionary never shows up, please select ‘No Show’ and tell us what happened. If something unsafe, inappropriate or unprofessional happens during the Experience, please flag it during the rating and review process and tell us what happened. All alerts will be responded to within 48 hours.
What if I have a question that I want answered before booking an Experience?
You can message a Passionary from either their profile or the Experience details screen.
Should I bring anything to my Experience?
When you book an Experience, there may be special icons highlighted in blue that will tell you everything you need for your Experience. If you are ever unsure, feel free to message the Passionary.
Can I suggest a specific time from a Passionary?
Yes! When viewing the available dates on the calendar, select ‘Suggest a Time’ to request an alternative to the times listed. The Passionary will have to confirm your suggestion in order to validate the booking.
Can I do an Experience with a friend?
Yes! Some Passionaries offer group Experiences. When you select a time for an Experience that is being offered to more than one person you’ll be asked to enter the number and names of Participants.
What happens when I cancel?
If you cancel an Experience within 24 hours, you will still be required to pay the full price of the Experience. If you cancel with more than 24 hours notice, you will not be charged.
What if I cancel because of an emergency?
If you feel you shouldn’t be charged email us at support@besomebody.com.
PRIVACY AND SAFETY:
What do I do if I feel uncomfortable meeting a Passionary?
Communicate! You can message any Passionary asking for more details or to meet in a place that you’d feel more comfortable. If you want to cancel the Experience because you feel unsafe and you are within 24 hours of the Experience email support@besomebody.com.
How do I know meeting a Passionary is safe?
All Passionaries must verify their email address, credit card, bank account, phone number and at least one social media account. Remember to use common sense as well. Don’t book an Experience with anyone that makes you feel unsafe. Use good judgment and our messaging feature to ensure your own safety. Besomebody, Inc. is not responsible for anything that happens during the Experience, as stated in our Terms of Service.
What happens If I get injured during an Experience?
Make sure not to take Experiences you aren’t physically capable of handling. Talk with the Passionary before your Experience to make sure you are prepared for what you’ll be doing. In the unfortunate event that someone is hurt during an Experience Besomebody, Inc is not responsible for anything that happens during the Experience, as stated in our Terms & Conditions. What happens when I flag an Experience?
All flagged Experiences are forwarded to our support team. We will then investigate the situation and respond as we feel appropriate according to our Community Guidelines and the details provided.
How do I delete my account?
Select ‘Settings’ from your profile (the gear icon in the top right) and then select ‘Delete Profile’ at the bottom.
What if I have a question that I want answered before booking an Experience?

Our mission is to enable you to truly live your passion. To do that, you need to be able to monetize your passion. We’re committed to providing you with the tools to help you make money doing what you love, but it’s up to you to make it happen. We’ve learned that the strategies below will go a long way in helping you find success on the #besomebody platform:

  1. Get crystal clear on what you’re teaching. Our goal is to be a true LEARNING platform, not a one-and-done tryout. This all starts with you having a clear plan of what and how you’ll teach.
  2. Create awesome Experiences. Setting up your Experiences is the most important part of being a Passionary. Great photos, clear copy and exciting terms are all important.
  3. When creating your Experiences, think in terms of intro, beginning, intermediate and advanced.
  4. Activate your always-on marketing strategy. As an independent-business owner, you need to be marketing your business all the time to your target group of potential participants.
  5. Share your booked & unleashed Experiences with your friends. Tap the Share button after each Experience to spread the word to your friends on Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.
  6. Share your Experience links regularly. Use the new sharing tools to post direct links to your Experiences across your social networks, email and contact lists.
  7. Invite your friends, fans and followers to download the app. It’s pretty simple: the more people using the app, the more opportunity for you to make money.
  8. Utilize your personal #besomebody URL on all marketing touch points. We’ve created a single domain for you to leverage in all your marketing. Your own personal ‘website’ which takes users directly to your profile on the app. Find your URL via settings → Edit Profile → My URL.
  9. Host an awesome Experience. Hosting a great Experience is more art than science. And all the details matter. Treat your participants well and they will come back to you.
  10. Write thorough, personal reviews for great Participants. Reviews offer you the opportunity to create an even closer relationship with your Participants. Show them love and they will give it back to you.
  11. Create an ongoing relationship with people who’ve booked with you. Follow-up regularly with past Participants on the app through messenger, and stay top of mind and encourage them to re-book.
  12. Book other Passionaries’ Experiences whenever possible! Lastly, remember your Unleash Score is the primary factor that elevates you in the marketplace. Aside from hosting Experiences, you can push up your score by booking Experiences and learning from other Passionaries!
